USAID TBLON 3

TB LON 3 Project

In Nigeria, a collaborative consortium led by the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), The Society for Family Health (SFH), and Equitable Health Access Initiative (EHAI)  is making strides in the fight against tuberculosis (TB). Operating in Lagos and Ogun States, this consortium is implementing the USAID TB LON 3 Project, with EHAI serving as the Implementing Entity responsible for all community-based activities. The project targets individuals at risk of contracting TB, those with active TB infections, and those in close contact with TB patients within 10 Local Government Areas in Lagos State.

EHAI’s mission is to reduce the transmission and progression of TB through early detection, treatment, and case notification, while also improving access to high-quality, person-centered treatment for tuberculosis, drug-resistant tuberculosis, and TB/HIV.

Here is a breakdown of the data collected from 10 Local Government Areas in Lagos State, which includes Agege, Amowu-odofin, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-lekki, Ifako-ijaiye, Lagos Island, Mushin, and Ojo. The data focuses on the people screened for TB, the number of presumptive cases evaluated, the number of confirmed TB cases, and the number of people with TB cases on treatment. The data is categorized by age range and gender.
