Position Title: Quantitative Data Analyst

Project: Cervical Cancer and Tampon-Based HPV Screening in Nigeria (CATCH Study)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid arrangements may be considered)

Contract Type: Consultancy/Short-Term Contract

Duration: 3 – 4 Months (with possibility of extension based on project needs)

About the Study

The Cervical Cancer and Tampon-Based HPV Screening in Nigeria (CATCH Study) is a clinical research study funded by Grand Challenges Canada and implemented by the Equitable Health Access Initiative (EHAI). The study evaluates the acceptability, feasibility, diagnostic performance, and cost-effectiveness of tampon-based self-collection for HPV screening compared with healthcare worker-collected cervical samples among women in Nigeria.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantitative Data Analyst to support data management, statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting of study findings.

Key Responsibilities

The Quantitative Data Analyst will:

  • Develop and implement the quantitative data analysis plan.
  • Perform data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance checks.
  • Manage and analyze study datasets using appropriate statistical software.
  • Conduct descriptive, inferential, and diagnostic performance analyses.
  • Calculate sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, agreement statistics (e.g., Cohen’s Kappa), and other relevant measures.
  • Support analysis of laboratory bridging study data.
  • Produce statistical tables, charts, and visualizations.
  • Contribute to study reports, donor reports, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator, Project Director, and research team to interpret findings.
  • Maintain data confidentiality and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and study protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience conducting quantitative analysis for public health or clinical research projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in STATA, R, SPSS, SAS, or similar statistical software.
  • Experience analyzing clinical trial, diagnostic accuracy, epidemiological, or health systems research data.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods, data management, and reporting.
  • Excellent report writing and data visualization skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with HPV, cancer screening, infectious diseases, or reproductive health research.
  • Experience analyzing PCR and diagnostic test data.
  • Previous involvement in peer-reviewed publications.
  • Familiarity with REDCap, KoboToolbox, DHIS2, or other electronic data capture systems.

  • The selected candidate will support the production of:
  • Clean and validated study datasets.
  • Statistical analysis outputs and interpretation.
  • Tables, figures, and dashboards.
  • Bridging study analysis report.
  • Contributions to the final study report and scientific manuscripts.
