EHAI Showcases Nigerian Innovation on the Global Stage at ICPHC 2025 Addis Ababa.

At the Equitable Health Access Initiative (EHAI), we believe that transforming health systems begins with local innovation and collaboration. This belief recently took center stage at the International Conference on Primary Health Care (ICPHC 2025), held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where two of our dedicated team members proudly represented Nigeria, and EHAI  not just as participants, but as speakers.

The conference brought together global leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators from over 70 countries, united by one goal: to shape the future of primary health care worldwide. Amidst this global exchange of ideas, EHAI’s contributions stood out as powerful examples of how technology and data can transform health outcomes, even in resource-constrained settings.

Championing Digital Innovation for Better Immunization

During one of the breakout sessions, Maduakolam Onyema presented on “Enhancing Immunization Coverage through the Automated Digitalized Immunization System (ADIS).”
This innovative system, developed by EHAI, leverages digital tools to streamline immunization data, track coverage, and close service delivery gaps. By improving data accuracy and accessibility, ADIS empowers health workers and policymakers to make informed decisions that protect more children from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Harnessing AI for Patient-Centered Primary Health Care

Asanre Esther also took the stage to share insights on “Leveraging AI and Digital Innovations to Advance Patient-Centered Immunization Services in Nigeria: A Primary Health Care Transformation Model.”
Her presentation explored how artificial intelligence and digital platforms can enhance patient engagement, improve service delivery, and ensure that health care systems respond effectively to the needs of communities, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

From Kwara State to the World

What began as innovative models piloted in Kwara State, Nigeria, is now capturing global attention. EHAI’s work demonstrates how locally driven solutions can have universal relevance  advancing equitable access to health care and aligning with global priorities for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

A Moment of Pride and Purpose

As the world gathered in Addis Ababa to reimagine the future of primary health care, EHAI’s voice added a distinct and vital perspective, one grounded in experience, innovation, and commitment to community-centered solutions.

We are incredibly proud of Maduakolam Onyema and Asanre Esther for showcasing the dedication and creativity that define our team. Their presence on this international stage reinforces EHAI’s growing role as a leader in digital health innovation and as a trusted partner in building resilient health systems.

This milestone is more than recognition, it’s a reminder that meaningful change begins when local solutions are given global visibility.

At EHAI, we remain committed to leveraging technology, data, and partnerships to ensure that quality health care is accessible to everyone, everywhere.
